Short shelf life (3 days)
If you're not slicing into your cake straight away, we would advise you to store your cake in the fridge overnight to keep cool and fresh.
When you're ready to tuck in, remove the cake from the fridge and allow it to return to room temperature; this may take approximately 3-4 hours but will depend on the temperature of your room. As soon as the buttercream has a soft, whipped, double cream-like texture, you know it's ready to eat! If you do not allow the cake to return to room temperature the sponge and buttercream will be hard and the flavours may be dulled.
